About Rotate PDF
Rotate PDF fixes pages that were scanned or exported sideways or upside-down. Pick a rotation angle and this tool applies it to every page using pdf-lib, entirely inside your browser — no page is re-rendered as an image, so text and vector content stay perfectly sharp.
This is a one-click fix for the most common scanning mistake: feeding paper into a scanner in landscape when the document is portrait (or vice versa), which leaves every page rotated the same way.
The most common cause: scanned batches
Office scanners and multi-function printers are the biggest source of sideways PDFs — feed a stack of portrait pages into a scanner set to landscape mode (or vice versa) and every single page comes out rotated the same amount. Rather than open each page in a heavyweight PDF editor, Rotate PDF fixes the whole batch in one pass: pick the angle that corrects your document, and every page is rotated identically in seconds.
Why this stays lossless
pdf-lib changes a page's rotation metadata rather than re-drawing its content, so this is fundamentally different from — and safer than — converting each page to an image, rotating the image, and rebuilding the PDF. Text stays selectable, vector graphics stay crisp at any zoom level, and file size barely changes, because nothing about the actual page content was touched. That distinction matters most for text-heavy documents like contracts or reports, where you'd otherwise risk losing the ability to select, search, or copy text if the file were rasterized during rotation.
Rotate PDF: this tool vs. the alternatives
| Method | Cost | Privacy | Speed | Batch rotation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| QuickPDFHubPro (this tool) | Free | Runs in-browser, no upload | Seconds | All pages, one click |
| Adobe Acrobat (desktop/online) | Subscription required | Uploads to Adobe's servers (online version) | Seconds | Yes, per-page or all |
| PDF reader's built-in rotate (view-only) | Free | Local | Instant | View only — doesn't save into the file |
| Other online converters | Often free, some paywalled | Varies — check if files are uploaded | Depends on server load | Varies |
Tips for the best results
- If only some pages are sideways, use Organize PDF instead, which rotates pages individually.
- Double-check the rotation direction on a test page — 90° and 270° are easy to mix up depending on which way the original scan was fed in.
- Combine with Crop PDF afterward if the scan also has excess margin to trim.
- Rotated a merged document? Run Merge PDF first, then rotate the combined file once.
